Prime Healthcare Saint Francis Hospital in Evanston, IL, seeks a Cytotechnologist to perform specialized cytology evaluation, table-side FNA assistance, and accurate reporting to support patient care. The role requires CLIA/CAP compliance understanding and coordination with pathologists and lab leadership.
You will maintain productivity, quality programs, and complete documentation while preparing and staining cytology specimens and collaborating across the lab team.
The Cytotechnologist performs specialized microscopic evaluation of cytologic specimens to identify cellular abnormalities and assist in the diagnosis of benign and malignant conditions. This role is responsible for the preparation, screening, and interpretation of cytology samples from various body sites, including gynecologic and non-gynecologic specimens, as well as fine needle aspiration (FNA) procedures. Working closely with pathologists and laboratory leadership, the Cytotechnologist ensures accurate, timely, and high-quality results while maintaining compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards. The position also contributes to quality improvement initiatives, documentation, and laboratory operations to support optimal patient care.

A reasonable compensation estimate for this role, which includes estimated wages, benefits, and other forms of compensation, is $42.00 to $56.53.
