Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology or relevant medical or scientific discipline.
• ASCP BOC or equivalent certification preferred at time of hire; if not certified, certification must be obtained within the first year.

Responsibilities

• Analyze chromosomes and/or FISH data from bone marrow, blood, amniotic fluid and tissues.
• Perform cell culture setup, harvest, slide prep, banding, FISH setup and reagent prep.
• Ensure specimen integrity throughout workflow and maintain QC/QA documentation.
• Enter results into EPIC and perform checks to minimize clerical errors.
• Recognize, confirm, and report abnormal or critical results; troubleshoot instruments and culture issues.
