Job summary

American Oncology Network, Inc. is seeking a Cytogenetic/FISH Technologist in Fort Myers, FL to perform culture initiation, harvesting, slide prep, and G-banding on bone marrow and peripheral blood samples. The role includes FISH analysis, automated imaging, and QA/QC responsibilities in a multi-site lab.

You will work with ASI Genesis and MetaSystems platforms, support CAP proficiency programs, and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations while providing accurate cytogenetic results.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Chemistry, Molecular or related field.
• CG(ASCP) certification required.
• State of Florida clinical laboratory technologist license or clinical laboratory supervisor license.
• Valid state Driver’s License for travel to satellite offices and offsite meetings.

Responsibilities

• Performs culture initiation, harvesting, slide preparation, and G-banding of bone marrow and peripheral blood specimens.
• Analyzes G-banded metaphase spreads using ASI automated imaging system; performs automated FISH analysis.
• Maintains quality control/assurance; validates lots/shipments; documents procedures; participates in SOPs and CAP proficiency surveys.
