Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Prepare organ and organ system specimens for clinical diagnostic study of cells.
  • Collect and prepare biological specimens using cytogenetic culture and harvest procedures; prepare microscopic slides.
  • Maintain accession records of specimens.
  • Operate and maintain laboratory equipment and monitor performance; report issues.
  • Prepare computer-generated images of chromosomes to capture suspected abnormalities.
  • Screen and image specimens under a microscope; identify and analyze abnormalities.
  • Summarize results and prepare routine and non-routine reports for Lab management.
