Job summary

Meriplex is seeking a security operations professional in California to triage and respond to security incidents, configure security settings, and support customer security requests. The role emphasizes strong customer service skills and broad platform knowledge across Windows, Mac, and Linux.

The ideal candidate has familiarity with security tools, scripting basics, and relevant certifications; bachelor’s degree is a plus but not required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is a plus but not required.
• Familiar with scripting languages such as Bash, PowerShell, Python, and KQL; preferred but not required.
• Well-rounded technical knowledge in Windows, Mac, Linux OS.
• Certifications: Security+, Network+, CySA+, ISC2 SSCP are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Notify customer of relevant incoming tickets and any issues that will prevent workflow.
• Handle customer requests including security configurations, reporting requests, investigations, and all error/issue identification.
• Maintain accurate records of triage activities, generate shift reports, and contribute to incident summaries, ensuring traceability for compliance audits.
• Provide troubleshooting of security applications and appliances.
• Ability to apply cybersecurity and privacy principles to organizational requirements.
• Ability to interpret information collected by security tools.
• Understanding of how information travels.
• Customer service skills.
