Job summary

Meriplex is seeking a Security Operations Associate to monitor security events, triage tickets, and support MDR deployments. You will escalate complex incidents, document actions, and collaborate with Tier 2 analysts to ensure rapid response.

The role requires 1–3 years in the security field, basic programming skills, and familiarity with Windows, Mac, and Linux environments. Bachelor’s degree is a plus. This is a first-line security operations role with growth potential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is preferred.
• Security-related certifications (Security+, CySA+, SSCP, Network+) are beneficial.
• 1–3 years of security industry experience or equivalent.
• Familiarity with scripting languages (bash, PowerShell, Python, KQL).
• Experience with Windows, macOS, Linux administration is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Monitor security events and alerts using MDR tools and initiate incident response procedures.
• Triage and review security tickets to ensure efficient handling.
• Notify customers of incoming tickets and potential workflow blockers.
• Handle customer requests including security configurations and investigations.
• Escalate complex incidents to Tier 2 with clear documentation and context.
• Maintain accurate records of triage activities and generate incident summaries.
• Provide support for MDR and agent-based solutions.
• Troubleshoot security applications and appliances.
• Participate in team briefings for knowledge transfer.
• Perform other duties as needed to balance workload during peak periods.
