Job summary

Meriplex is seeking an Security Operations Analyst to monitor security events and alerts using advanced MDR tools, analyze threats, and initiate incident response processes. You will triage security tickets, notify customers of issues, and handle requests including configurations and investigations.

Ideal candidates have 1–3 years in security, familiarity with scripting (bash, PowerShell, Python, or KQL), and strong knowledge of Windows, Mac, and Linux.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of security industry experience or equivalent skill level.
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is a plus but not required.
• Familiar with scripting languages such as Bash, PowerShell, Python, or KQL.
• Well-rounded technical knowledge in Windows, Mac, Linux OS.
• Experience in system administration and/or network infrastructure is a plus.
• Security+ / CySA+ / SSCP certifications are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitor security events and alerts using MDR tools, analyze threats and initiate incident response procedures.
• Triage and review security ticket details to ensure issues are handled efficiently.
• Notify customer of relevant incoming tickets and any issues impacting workflow.
• Handle customer requests including security configurations, reporting requests, investigations, and issue identification.
• Forward complex incidents to Tier 2 with clear documentation to minimize response times.
• Maintain records of triage activities, generate shift reports, and contribute to incident summaries for audits.
• Provide support for MDR and other agent-based solutions.
• Troubleshoot security applications and appliances.
• Participate in team briefings for knowledge transfer.
• Cover other duties during peak periods as needed.
