Job summary

Old Dominion Freight Line is seeking a seasoned Cybersecurity Architect to design, implement, and maintain our enterprise cybersecurity architecture. You will lead security strategy across network, cloud, IAM, and data protection, and guide incident response and governance with senior leadership.

The role requires at least 10 years in cybersecurity with 5+ in leadership, deep knowledge of security frameworks, cloud security, and risk management, plus certifications such as CISSP/CISM/CISA.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, IT, CS or related field (Master’s preferred).
• 10+ years in cybersecurity; 5+ in leadership or as architect.
• Enterprise security architecture experience.
• Knowledge of NIST CSF, ISO 27001, CIS; familiarity with CCPA/HIPAA/PCI-DSS compliance.
• Cloud security and IAM expertise; audits familiarity.
• Vulnerability management and incident response experience; threat hunting.
• SDLC and Secure DevOps (DevSecOps) practices.
• Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CISA or AWS Security – Specialty.
• Automation tools in security (SOAR, Ansible, Terraform).
• Networking knowledge (TCP/IP, VPNs, DNS, HTTP/HTTPS).
• Experience in logistics/transportation security context.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development of a comprehensive cybersecurity architecture strategy aligned with business objectives.
• Design secure IT environments including network, cloud, IAM, and data protection.
• Oversee integration of security tools (SIEM, IDS/IPS, vulnerability management).
• Develop, implement, and maintain a cybersecurity governance framework.
• Collaborate with leadership to define strategy, risk appetite, and incident response.
• Oversee third‑party risk assessments and vendor security controls.
• Lead incident response activities with cross‑functional teams.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards (NIST, ISO, CIS).
