Job summary

Northrop Grumman Space Systems seeks a Cyber Systems Engineering Manager 1 in Huntsville, AL, for 100% on-site work. The role balances functional Oversight for 10–12 engineers with 80% technical direct work on programs/proposals.

The candidate will lead the engineering IT organization and contribute to mission and tactical system development. The position requires a STEM degree plus experience in systems engineering, strong leadership, and the ability to travel up to 10%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in STEM required with 5+ years in Systems Engineering or related field; Master’s degree with 3+ years, or PhD with 1+ year.
• Experience leading a project and driving performance against schedule, cost and scope.
• Strong leadership, communication, collaboration and organizational skills.
• DoD 8570/8140 IAT Level II or higher certification preferred.
• Solid understanding of Cloud Technologies and IT computing environments; strong network architecture knowledge

Responsibilities

• Oversee staffing of the engineering team and develop personnel.
• Support strategy execution to maintain a high-performing team; use development plans and coaching.
• Provide people leadership including performance management and engagement.
• Balance workloads and align team goals with business needs.
• Ensure compliance with engineering processes and drive technical excellence; contribute to proposals
