Job Description
We are looking for a Systems Engineering Manager 1 based in Huntsville, AL. The role balances approximately 20% management duties and 80% program responsibilities. Management duties include day‑to‑day communication, performance assessment, career counseling, professional development, employee succession planning, rewards and recognition, conflict resolution, and personnel issue resolution for 5‑10 direct reports.

Basic Qualifications
- 5 years of experience and a Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering or a STEM discipline; or 3 years and a Master's degree in the same fields.
- Active Secret clearance required.
- Working experience or foundational knowledge in people and technical leadership roles.
- Working knowledge of staffing, engineering metrics, and training resources, processes, and tools.
- Experience with requirements management tools such as DOORS.
- 2+ years of experience with requirements decomposition and tracing to verification events.
- Verification experience or knowledge.
- Knowledge of CAMEO and/or Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) principles.
- Familiarity with Agile software development tools such as Jira, Confluence, Fisheye/Crucible, and Bitbucket.
- Business acumen and ability to apply knowledge of business and financial concepts to program decisions.
- Demonstrated customer interface skills.
- Demonstrated large‑team organizational and communication skills.
- Demonstrated executive communication, presentation, and collaboration skills.
- Resource planning and staffing to plan understanding of the Systems Engineering V‑Model.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Systems Engineering or a STEM discipline.
- Military experience.
- INCOSE or Systems Engineering certification.
- MDA knowledge.
- Demonstrated independent planning, organization, and working in cross‑functional teams with a customer focus.
- Experience leading diverse technical teams across multiple locations.
- Current Security+ certification.
Salary and Benefits
- Primary Level Salary Range: $127,000.00 - $190,600.00 (range may vary by experience, education, skills, and location).
- Potential eligibility for overtime, shift differential, and discretionary bonuses.
