Job summary

Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Software Engineering Department Manager - Level 3 in Huntsville, Alabama. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree with 10 years of experience, or Master’s Degree with 6 years or PhD with 4 years.
• Science in Software Engineering, System Engineering, or related discipline
• 10+ years of experience in engineering disciplines with strong problem solving
• Active DoD Secret security clearance
• At least 3 years of technical and personnel management experience through program IPT, R&D, or functional environments.

Responsibilities

• Manage an organization of >100 multidisciplinary employees.
• Serve as primary Engineering liaison to a Program Manager with oversight of team execution, staffing, indirect budgets, and process changes.
• Responsible for daily communication, performance assessment, development, and recognition of direct reports and subordinate sections.
• Develop high performing teams with strong engagement including mentoring and coaching.
• Assist the AL Engineering Director with technology initiatives, employee engagement, staffing projections, and support of new business acquisitions.
• Ensure program scope aligns to skills and experience.
