Job summary

Northrop Grumman Defense Systems seeks a Systems Engineering Manager 2 to lead a multidisciplinary team in Huntsville, AL or Roy, UT, supporting Advanced Programs. The role focuses on guiding system architecture, MBSE, and risk reduction during the Technology Maturation and Risk Reduction phase.

You will own planning, staffing, and cost/schedule performance, deliver verification strategies, and brief leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in STEM with 8 years related experience; 6 years with master’s degree.
• US Citizen with active U.S. Government Secret Clearance, possible Top Secret/SAP eligibility.
• 2+ years of experience with Agile team execution and use of digital engineering tools (JIRA, Confluence, DOORS, Cameo).
• Experience performing Modeling, Simulation & Analysis (MS&A) of complex systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a multi-disciplined systems engineering team through the TMRR phase, including planning, tasking, performance management and staff development.
• Perform systems engineering activities: architecture development, requirements, interfaces, verification planning, across the weapon system.
• Apply MBSE and digital engineering tools to develop, analyze and maintain system models and data baselines.
• Plan, coordinate and track cost, schedule, technical performance and quality for work packages within program objectives.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define scope, resolve issues, and support technical reviews.
• Develop and execute verification and validation strategies, including traceability.
• Identify and mitigate technical risks and conduct trade studies.
• Provide technical briefings to leadership and represent the MS&A and systems engineering organization in reviews.
• Foster a high-engagement team environment with mentoring and staffing support.
• Ensure adherence to engineering processes and configuration management.
