Job summary

Northrop Grumman Defense Systems seeks a Systems Engineering Manager 2 to lead a multi-disciplinary team in Huntsville, AL or Roy, UT on advanced programs. You will develop system architecture, requirements, interfaces, and verification plans to meet program objectives.

The role requires a STEM bachelor’s with 8+ years of experience (6+ with a master’s), active US clearance, and hands-on MBSE and tools such as JIRA, Confluence, DOORS, and Cameo.

Qualifications

• U.S. citizen with an active Secret clearance required at time of application.
• Ability to obtain and maintain Top Secret clearance and SAP approval as required by program.
• Bachelor’s degree in STEM with 8+ years related experience; 6+ years with master’s degree.

Responsibilities

• Act as deputy to the IPT Lead, coordinating cross-IPT dependencies and supporting planning, execution, and risk management.
• Lead and manage a multi-disciplinary systems engineering team through the Technology Maturation and Risk Reduction phase, including staffing and performance management.
• Perform architecture development, requirements allocation, interface definition, and verification planning across the weapon system.
• Apply MBSE, modeling & simulation, and digital engineering tools (Cameo, DOORS, JIRA, Confluence) to develop and maintain system models and data products.
• Plan, coordinate, and track cost, schedule, technical performance, and quality for work packages to meet program objectives.
• Provide clear technical and programmatic briefings to leadership and customers and represent the SE organization in reviews.
