Job summary

WesBanco Bank Inc. is seeking a Security Operations leader to guide the team in reducing threats and driving incident response excellence across the technology lifecycle.

The role collaborates with IT and Risk Management, ensuring security practices meet regulatory requirements and industry standards while optimizing monitoring, playbooks, and platform maturity. This position requires strong leadership, hands-on experience with security event procedures, and the ability to manage and improve

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field and at least three years of related experience.
• Technical certifications in networking, security, systems or databases are preferred (Cisco, Microsoft, Comptia, Citrix, Oracle, (ISC)2).
• Willingness to respond to emergencies and work additional hours as needed.
• Experience with security event response procedures and event tuning practices.
• Familiarity with ITIL/COBIT/NIST frameworks is a plus.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Leads, mentors, and develops the Security Operations team while establishing goals aligned with Information Security and Information Technology objectives.
• Develops and maintains Security Operations procedures, workflows, and incident response playbooks.
• Oversees security monitoring, alert triage, threat detection, investigations, and operational effectiveness.
• Manages cybersecurity incident response efforts and serves as the primary escalation point for significant security events.
• Partners with Security Engineering and senior leadership to optimize security platforms, monitoring capabilities, and operational readiness.
• Develops and reports on key metrics related to Security Operations effectiveness, platform health, project progress, and risk reduction.
