Job summary

BDO USA is seeking a Cyber Security and Compliance Associate intern to support information and data risk advisory services and client projects. You will work with experienced professionals on compliance projects, cyber maturity assessments, and operationalizing client processes and controls.

The role requires strong communication skills and the ability to interact with client personnel. A bachelor’s degree in a related field and 3 months of IT compliance or security experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Cyber Security, Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, Information Technology or Computer Science required.
• Three months of experience in IT compliance, security assessments, management consulting, technology advisory, or technology project management preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or Google Workspace required.
• Visio experience preferred.
• Experience using AI platforms preferred.

Responsibilities

• Participates in engagement projects in consultation with other team members.
• Assists with conducting assessments such as PCI, NIST, CIS, HIPAA including readiness reports and cybersecurity audits.
• Drafts presentations of BDO work product to client.
• Identifies and prioritizes initial key risks and assesses impact and likelihood.
• Assists with preparing reports for client highlighting work performed, issues identified and recommendations.
• Coordinates with other BDO practices on technical issues and due diligence components with the engagement lead.
• Travel required as necessary.
• Other duties as required.
