Job summary

BDO USA is seeking a Cyber Security and Compliance Intern to learn foundational information and data risk concepts while assisting client projects and internal initiatives. You will work with experienced professionals on compliance tasks, cyber maturity assessments, and operationalizing client processes, policies, and controls.

The role involves security assessments, documentation of meetings, and assisting with client reports, data-flow diagrams, and market-ready solutions.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program, required.
• Currently pursuing a degree in Technology, Computer Science, Information Assurance, Business Management, Accounting or Finance, preferred.
• Prior internship, externship, or professional experience offering experience with data management, technology, compliance, and/or business management, preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists with conducting security assessments, readiness reports, and other related tasks that may include PCI, NIST, CIS, HIPAA.
• Documents client meetings to socialize with the team following the meeting.
• Manages individual project tasks related to cyber security and compliance projects.
• Assists the team with developing client reports, including findings and recommendations.
• Assists with developing data flow diagrams and maintains updates of diagrams over time.
• Conducts research for client projects to assist in providing up to date options or solutions available on the market.
