Job summary

Safe Children Coalition, Inc. in Florida seeks a Child Welfare Case Manager to work directly with families referred by the Department of Children and Families (DCF) to identify needs and coordinate services toward permanency.

The CWCM evaluates and coordinates services, completes required assessments, and assists families by delineating options and facilitating problem solving. Florida Certification Board training and testing are required within 1 year of pre-service completion.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s Degree for those without relevant professional experience, social work, or human services experience.
• An associate degree from an accredited college or 60+ college credits from an accredited college or university AND one of the following: Two years of professional work experience OR Two years of full-time social work or human services experience.
• A high school diploma or GED equivalent (official transcripts required) AND four+ years of full-time social work or human services experience.
• Valid driver’s license in good standing.
• Valid car insurance.

Responsibilities

• Attend formal instruction (Phase I Child Welfare Practice Pre-service Training program).
• Enter Phase II on successful completion and engage in monitored field practice under supervision.
• Conduct child safety assessments.
• Assess client needs and develop safety plans, DCF case plans and visitation plans.
• Coordinate delivery of services, plan referrals and linkages to clients and families.
• Monitor case plan tasks and evaluate reports from service providers.
• Prepare case/status reports and testify in court or before prescribed bodies regarding reunification or permanency.
• Coordinate services with supervisor, team members, providers, DCF and attorneys.
• Provide on-call support as required or scheduled.
