Job summary

Banner Boswell Medical Center in Sun City, AZ is hiring a CVOR Surgical Technologist to scrub for open heart procedures and assist surgeons with cardiopulmonary bypass equipment and sterile technique.

Under RN supervision, you will manage instruments, maintain aseptic technique, and support a high-performing cardiovascular OR team during day shifts. A surgical technologist certification and a HS diploma are required, with 1–2 years OR experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Surgical technologist certification required; 1–2 years OR experience preferred.
• Must scrub proficiently in at least two surgical specialties.

Responsibilities

• Prepare for procedures; pull instruments and ensure they are in good working order.
• Anticipate surgeon needs; pass instruments and maintain competency in two specialties.
• Maintain aseptic technique and universal precautions throughout procedures.
• Ensure accuracy of surgeon preference cards and pick lists.
• Assist with OR turnover between cases; stock and clean rooms.
• Participate in training and orientation of staff and students.
• Provide business support as needed by the department.
