Job summary

Banner Estrella Medical Center in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a Surgical Technologist for the Cardiovascular Operating Room to support complex procedures and high-acuity care.

You will scrub on at least two surgical specialties, assist in cardiopulmonary bypass procedures, and collaborate with surgeons, nurses, and staff in a fast-paced environment. Day shift, on-site, with competitive benefits and a potential sign-on bonus for experienced CVOR scrub techs.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or GED and current BLS certification.
• Certified Surgical Technologist with 1–2 years' experience or 3–4 years' experience.
• Registration with State Regulatory Agency if applicable.
• Must scrub proficiently on a minimum of two surgical specialties.

Responsibilities

• Prepares for surgical procedures by pulling instruments and supplies.
• Anticipates the surgeon's needs and passes instruments; maintains scrubbing competency.
• Maintains aseptic technique and universal precautions throughout procedures.
• Disposes of sharps and trash; counts instruments and sponges.
• Assists with OR turnover; stocks and replenishes supplies; cleans operating rooms.
• Participates in training and orientation of surgical technology staff and students.
• Contributes to administrative tasks within the department as needed.
• Follows safety procedures for medication labeling, handling specimens, sharps, and radiation safety.
