Job summary

Southern Illinois Healthcare is seeking a licensed Registered Nurse to provide professional nursing care for SIH patients. The role includes assessing needs, developing and implementing care plans, and collaborating with the care team.

Qualifications

Current Illinois RN license required.
CPR/BLS within 6 months of hire.
Ability to float to SIH units within competency level.

Responsibilities

Assess patients to determine mental, physical, and spiritual needs.
Establish a compassionate environment to provide emotional and spiritual support to patients and families.
Develop, implement, and evaluate an individual care plan with the health care team.
Provide health teaching and counseling to promote optimal health.
Use clinical judgement and critical thinking to respond to changes in patient condition.
Maintain accurate documentation in the medical record.
Contribute to policies to ensure patient safety and quality of care.
Supervise licensed practical nurses and/or unlicensed staff as needed.
Advocate for patients by coordinating with health professionals.
Complete required education, competencies, and licensure on time.
Float to other SIH nursing units as appropriate.
