Southern Illinois Healthcare is seeking a registered nurse to provide professional nursing care for SIH patients in a hospital setting. The role requires an IL RN license, CPR/BLS, and ACLS within 6 months of hire, with additional unit-specific certifications anticipated within established timelines.

The position involves assessing patients, planning and implementing individualized care, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to promote optimal health outcomes.

Qualifications

• Current Illinois Registered Nurse license
• Current CPR/BLS Card
• ACLS card (within 6 months of hire)
• TNCC or TNS (within 1 year of hire or residency graduation) - required effective 6/2026
• ECRN (within 24 months of hire or residency graduation) - required effective 6/2026
• NRP (within 6 months of hire)
• NRP & PALS (within 6 months of hire) - Pediatrics
• ONS certifications for infusion and related units

Responsabilités

• Assess patients to determine mental, physical, and spiritual needs
• Establish a compassionate environment to provide emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patient and families
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate an individual plan of care with the care team
• Provide health teaching and counseling to promote optimal health
• Use clinical judgment and critical thinking to recognize and report changes in patient condition
• Complete accurate and timely documentation in patient medical records
• Contribute to policy/procedure development for patient safety and quality
• Supervision and delegation responsibilities of licensed practical nurse and/or unlicensed assistive personnel
• Advocate for the patient by communicating with other health professionals
• Complete required education, competencies, and licensure on time
• Float to other SIH nursing units within competency level

Formation

Associate, Diploma, Bachelor’s degree or Master’s in Nursing
