Job summary

Southern Illinois Healthcare is seeking a registered nurse to provide professional care for patients across units in Carbondale, IL. The role emphasizes compassionate, holistic care and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.

The position requires IL RN licensure, CPR/BLS, and ACLS within 6 months of hire, with responsibilities spanning assessment, planning, delivery, education, documentation, and unit-wide collaboration. Float to other SIH units as needed.

Qualifications

Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in Illinois.
CPR/BLS certification at time of hire.
ACLS certification required within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

Assess patients to determine mental, physical, and spiritual needs.
Establish a compassionate environment to provide emotional and psychological support to patients and families.
Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized plans of care with the care team.
Provide health teaching and counseling to promote optimal health.
Demonstrate clinical judgement and critical thinking to respond to patient changes.
Complete accurate and timely documentation in the medical record.
Advise on policies to support patient safety and quality of care.
Supervise licensed practical nurses and unlicensed personnel as needed.
Advocate for patients by collaborating with health professionals.
Complete required education, competencies, and licensure timely.
Float to other SIH nursing units within competency level.
