Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in health science with six months of health care experience (e.g., Cath Lab, EP, EMT, Paramedic, CNA, Surgical tech)
• Graduate of Radiologic Technology, Cardiovascular Technology, Respiratory Therapy, or Nursing program
• Graduate of a diploma or associate program in health science with one year of health care experience (e.g., Cath Lab, EP, EMT, Paramedic, Surgical tech, RN/LPN)
• Graduate of a non-programmatically accredited program in invasive cardiovascular technology with at least 800 clinical hours
• Current license, where applicable
• Surgical Tech/Assistant Certification per state requirements
• Rad Tech state license per state requirements (Montana)

Responsibilities

• Scrub, circulate, and monitor in diagnostic, interventional, and CRM procedures according to scope of practice documents
• Complete procedure data entry; acquire and process imaging studies, hemodynamic assessment and calculations
• Intra-procedure CathPCI registry requirements and prepare procedural reports
• Provide patient education and emotional support for patients and their families; ensure patient comfort
• Foster teamwork and cohesiveness with team members and physicians
• Develop knowledge of cardiopulmonary pathophysiology, pharmacology, anatomy and treatment options
• Assess patient condition, document, and inform physician of deviations from normal criteria
• Understand and apply x-ray generation and safety; operate imaging equipment
• May mix and administer medications under physician direction (RCIS/RCES required)
• At procedure end, apply closure device or pressure for hemostasis
• Provide thorough documentation of each procedure and events
• Operate, calibrate, troubleshoot equipment in Cardiac Catheterization Lab
• Perform point-of-care testing and QA
