Job summary

Intermountain Health in Denver is seeking a CV Invasive Specialist I to join our cath lab team. You will participate in procedure room prep and post-procedure turnover, support invasive, diagnostic, and interventional procedures, and ensure patient comfort with education and teamwork.

With required RCIS/RCES or equivalent credentials, BLS/PALS/ACLS, and health-science education, you will advance patient care in a fast-paced environment while adhering to ACVP/NASPE standards.

Qualifications

• BLS certification required for healthcare providers.
• PALS for children’s hospitals or ACLS for adults; new employees must obtain within 3 months.
• Bachelor’s degree in health science with six months of healthcare experience or graduate of radiologic/cardiovascular/nursing programs.
• Graduate of relevant diploma or associate program with one year healthcare experience.
• Graduate of an invasive cardiovascular technology program with 800 clinical hours; degree will be verified.

Responsibilities

• Participate in procedure room preparation and post-procedure turnover.
• Develop knowledge of invasive, diagnostic, and interventional supplies; assist in inventory and document hemodynamic recordings.
• Provide patient education and emotional support; ensure patient comfort; foster teamwork with staff and physicians.
• Assess patient condition and inform physician of deviations from normal during procedures.
• Understand x-ray generation and safety; operate imaging equipment.
• May mix and administer medications under physician supervision (RCIS/RCES credential required).
• Apply sheath closure or hemostasis and document procedures accurately.
• Develop skills in operating and troubleshooting cath lab equipment; perform point-of-care testing and QA.
• Scrub, circulate, monitor in diagnostic/interventional/CRM procedures; complete data entry and imaging/registry reporting.
