Job summary

DHL Express in Los Angeles, CA is seeking a qualified Customs Entry Agent to ensure compliance with U.S. and foreign regulations for shipment, receipt, and documentation of imports, and to process entries to US Customs. You will also compute tariffs and price conversions.

The role offers competitive hourly pay ($26.29–$35.05) and benefits; you will review invoices, bills of lading, and shipping documents to obtain release and resolve delays while maintaining accurate records.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent; Associate's degree preferred
• Overtime required
• 1 year experience in transportation or customs preferred
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office; ability to use databases and web-based apps
• Strong communication, problem solving and interpersonal skills; clear telephone voice
• Must obtain and maintain SIDA badge and pass background checks

Responsibilities

• Plan and direct traffic flow to/from foreign destinations
• Classify shipments for compliance with government rules
• Process requests for extensions, expirations, cancellations and entries
• Communicate shipment status with origin/destination locations
• Apply for permits and Certificates of Eligibility
• Maintain communication with relevant government departments
• Review invoices and shipping documents for tariff classification
• Process shipments through online portals to obtain clearance
