Job summary

DHL Express in Los Angeles seeks a Customs Entry Agent to ensure compliance with federal regulations governing shipment, receipt and documentation of imported goods. You will process entries to US Customs, compute tariffs, and review invoices and shipping statements to obtain release of freight.

The role requires a High School Diploma or equivalent, 1 year in transportation or customs preferred, MS Office skills, and the ability to obtain a SIDA badge. Overtime is required; pay range is listed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent; Associate degree preferred.
• 1 year experience in transportation or customs preferred.
• Overtime is required; must obtain SIDA badge.

Responsibilities

• Participates in planning and directing the flow of traffic to/from foreign destinations.
• Effectively classifies dutiable import/export shipments to ensure compliance with regulations.
• Processes all requests for extensions, expiration, cancellation and all government entries.
• Communicates with origin and destination locations regarding shipment status and handling.
• Applies for Import/Export Permits and Certificates of Eligibility.
• Examine documents to determine the correct Harmonized Tariff Code for classification.
