Job summary

DHL Express in Houston, TX is seeking a qualified Customs Entry Agent to ensure compliance with U.S. regulations governing shipment, receipt, and documentation of imported goods. You will process entries to U.S.

Customs and Border Protection, compute tariffs, and review invoices, bills of lading, and shipping statements to obtain release of freight. Ideal candidates have a High School Diploma or equivalent, experience in transportation or customs, and proficiency with MS Office.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent; Associate degree preferred.
• Overtime may be required.
• 1 year experience in transportation or customs preferred.
• Proficiency with MS Office and data entry.

Responsibilities

• Participates in planning and directing the flow of traffic to/from foreign destinations
• Effectively classifies dutiable import/export shipments to ensure compliance with government rules
• Processes requests for extensions, expiration, cancellation and all government entries
• Communicates with origin and destination locations regarding shipment status
