Job summary

Hermès in Dayton, NJ is seeking a Temporary Customs Coordinator to support compliance with U.S. import/export laws. You will analyze ACE data, maintain broker communications, and ensure accurate, timely shipments while delivering excellent service to internal and external clients.

The role is onsite with potential move to full‑time based on performance. Responsibilities include maintaining compliance files, coordinating with Hermès brokers, and contributing to training and process improvements.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2–3 years of experience in customs compliance, data analysis, brokerage, entry writing, or internship.
• Certifications in customs, supply chain, or dangerous goods preferred.
• Advanced analytical capabilities with precise, detail‑oriented work.
• Excel knowledge mandatory (V‑lookups, pivot tables).
• Knowledge of TSCA, Lacey Act, and other compliance items; knowledge of Incoterms.

Responsibilities

• Download and analyze ACE reporting for discrepancies and updates.
• Manage and refresh internal files associated with ongoing projects.
• Update shared files to ensure Hermès of Paris brokers have the most current information available.
• Monitor internal compliance files.
• Request and maintain mandatory documentation from the origin office (TSCA, Lacey Act, etc.).
• Entry‑file documentation received from Hermès of Paris brokers in accordance with U.S. Customs requirements.
• Provide timely status updates for critical files and reporting.
• Conduct entry auditing based on ACE data and documentation provided by Hermès of Paris brokers.
• Participate in mandatory compliance training topics as directed by management.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
• This position may require overtime and a flexible schedule, including extended holiday hours during designated periods.
