  • Provide timely status updates for critical files and reporting.
  • Audit entries based on ACE data and broker documents.
  • Participate in compliance training as directed.

The Team

The Import Export Team plays a crucial role in ensuring our merchandise and non‑merchandise arrive safely and efficiently while adhering to all federal regulations of import/export.

Our goal is to deliver our merchandise to the Distribution Center as timely as possible in partnership with external and internal clients.

The Opportunity

This is a temporary‑to‑permanent position, with the opportunity to transition to full‑time employment based on performance and business needs.

As a Temporary Customs Coordinator you play a key role in supporting compliance with all United States import and export laws and regulations. In this role you will support the organization and analysis of key reporting, ensure files used to relay information to Customs Brokers are accurate and up to date, and support day‑to‑day functions of team as needed.

You are responsible for delivering superior customer service to both internal and external clients while demonstrating a strong commitment to Hermès culture, policies, and procedures. Strong Customs Compliance is essential for ensuring shipments arrive on time and in full compliance, enabling the company to meet and exceed its goals.

While your primary focus will be within one division, you will also cross‑train and provide assistance to other divisions as needed, contributing to a collaborative and well‑rounded team environment.

This position is based onsite in our Dayton, NJ Distribution & Service Center.

About the Role
  • Responsible for downloading and analyzing ACE reporting for discrepancies and updates
  • Managing and refreshing internal files associated with ongoing projects
  • Updating shared files to ensure Hermès of Paris brokers have most current information available
  • Monitoring HOP internal files for compliance
  • Requesting and maintaining documentation from origin office to ensure compliance (TSCA, LACEY Act, etc.)
  • File entry documentation received from Hermès of Paris brokers in accordance with US Customs requirements
  • Provide timely status updates for critical files and reporting
  • Conduct entry auditing based on ACE data and entry documentation provided by Hermès of Paris brokers
  • Participate in compliance training topics as directed by management
  • All other duties as assigned by supervisor
  • This position may require overtime and flexible schedule to meet the needs of the business, including extended holiday hours during designated periods throughout the year

About You
  • Minimum of 2 or 3 years of experience, including hands‑on internship, Customs Compliance, Data Analysis, Brokerage, Entry Writing
  • Certifications in Customs, Supply Chain, Dangerous goods preferred
  • Advanced analytical capabilities paired with precise, detail‑oriented work
  • Excel knowledge (V‑lookups, Pivot tables is a must)
  • Knowledge of documentation and requirements for TSCA, Lacey Act, and other compliance items
  • Knowledge of incoterm
  • Eager to learn and grow within the role
  • Able to work independently while proactively seeking clarification when needed
  • Clear and courteous written and verbal communication along with presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment to teamwork and contributing to shared objectives
  • Lifting requirements – ability to lift up to 50 lbs. following properly safety procedures
  • Solid understanding of budgeting and ability to exercise appropriate judgement
  • Proven excellence at meeting long and short‑term deadlines
  • Solid knowledge of Microsoft Office & PowerPoint

The range for this position is $31.00-$34.00 per hour. Actual rates are determined based on the job, location, and individual experience.
