Job summary

A.P. Moller - Maersk seeks a CHB Operations Associate to manage end-to-end customs brokerage for a dedicated portfolio, ensuring compliance and timely imports. You will partner with customers, carriers, government agencies, and internal teams to deliver reliable service.

In a fast-paced, detail‑oriented environment you will process U.S. Customs entries, coordinate with freight forwarders, and maintain SOPs while supporting peak volumes and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• 6–12 months of customs brokerage or related industry experience.
• At least 2 years in a CHB or operational support environment preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Highly organized, detail‑oriented, and comfortable working under pressure.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
• Team‑focused mindset with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred (or equivalent work experience).
• Customs House Broker License preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a trusted point of contact for customers, responding to questions and providing timely, accurate shipment updates
• Prepare and process U.S. Customs entries and Partner Government Agency (PGA) filings, ensuring full regulatory compliance
• Open and manage entry files in alignment with defined KPIs and service standards
• Coordinate shipment clearance with freight forwarders, steamship lines, airlines, and container freight stations (CFS) to ensure timely release
• Track and trace inbound shipments from port or airport through final delivery
• Ensure all required documentation and entry packages are accurately uploaded into operating systems
• Complete customer billing, delivery orders, and required operational reports
• Maintain and update customer SOPs as needed
• Collaborate closely with teammates and cross‑functional partners to support coverage, cross‑training, and peak‑volume needs
