The role emphasizes staffing, development, P&L management, training, and ensuring safety and Meijer standards during peak hours. You’ll spend significant time coaching staff and delivering exceptional customer experiences.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or its equivalent required.
• 2-3 years of related retail experience.
• One year of management experience.
• Rotational assignments in other areas of the store and customer service experience are helpful.
• Ability to communicate clearly and resolve conflicts.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and analyze financial information.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct and supervise team members in day-to-day operations.
• Serve as mentor and coach for all team members.
• Implement strategies to improve customer service and drive store sales.
• Maintain store appearance and product presentation to company standards.
• Staffing, selection and hiring to meet staffing needs.
• Promote succession planning and involvement in promotion decisions.
• Document disciplinary actions and make discharge recommendations.
• Responsible for P&L, achieving sales and minimizing shrink.
• Model exceptional, fast and friendly customer service.
• Ensure team training and Meijer Friendly Initiative communication.
• Mentor team members to exceed sales goals and maintain Meijer standards.
