Job summary

Hy-Vee Inc. is seeking a courteous clerk to greet customers, assist with purchases, and help keep the store clean and organized. You’ll bag items, assist with transport to vehicles, and maintain carts, shelves, and front-end supplies.

Responsibilities include stocking, cleaning, and helping in other departments as needed. No prior experience required; on-the-job training is provided to ensure a welcoming store experience for every customer.

Qualifications

• No education or experience required; we will provide all necessary training.
• Ability to stand and walk throughout a shift in a fast-paced retail environment.
• Willingness to perform a variety of store tasks to keep the store welcoming.

Responsibilities

• Provide prompt, friendly customer service by greeting customers with a smile and learning their names.
• Package purchases and assist customers in transporting them to their vehicle.
• Bring in carts from the parking lot and manage cart corrals during shifts.
• Clean registers, restrooms, break room and backroom; sweep and mop floors as needed.
• Stock merchandise, rotate shelves, and ensure correct shelf tags and locations.
• Assist in training new courtesy clerks and deliver products to customers when needed.
• Shovel, salt, and sand walkways; maintain a clean, organized front end.
