Job summary

Hy-Vee Inc. is seeking a Courtesy Clerk to assist customers and support store operations. You will greet customers, package purchases, and help transport items to vehicles while keeping the store clean and welcoming.

No education or prior experience required; comprehensive training is provided. This role involves standing, walking, and light duties across the sales floor, cart duties, and stocking throughout shifts.

Qualifications

• Follow detailed written or verbal instructions.
• Perform simple addition and subtraction, copy figures, and count and record accurately.
• Understand and follow directions and communicate supply needs orally or in writing.
• Work effectively as part of a team to keep the store clean and customers happy.

Responsibilities

• Provide prompt, friendly customer service by greeting customers with a smile, learning their names, and making visits great.
• Package purchases and assist customers in transporting them to their vehicle.
• Bring carts in from the parking lot and manage cart corrals during shifts.
• Clean registers, restrooms, break room, and backroom; sweep and mop floors as needed.
• Clean the can redemption area and empty recycle bins where applicable.
• Stock, face, rotate merchandise, and know shelf locations and prices.
