Job summary

Hy-Vee Inc in Coralville, IA is hiring a Courtesy Clerk to greet customers, bag groceries, stock shelves, and keep the store clean and welcoming. This role keeps you active, helps customers to their car, and supports all departments as needed.

No education or experience required; training provided. You will work as part of a team, follow instructions, count and handle merchandise, and maintain hygiene and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Provide prompt, friendly customer service by greeting customers with a smile, learning their names, and going out of your way to make every visit a great one.
• Package customer purchases and assist customers in transporting them to their mode of transportation.
• Bring carts in from the parking lot and cart corrals throughout your shift.
• Clean registers, restrooms, the break room, and the backroom, and sweep and mop floors as needed.
• Stock, face, and rotate merchandise, clean shelves, understand shelf tags, and know the location of merchandise in the store and backroom.
• Check prices on products as needed.
• Maintain front end supplies including paper and plastic bags, receipt paper, and other necessary items.
• Help train new courtesy clerks.
• Deliver product to customers and assist in all departments as requested within wage and hour guidelines.
• Shovel, salt, and sand walkways as needed.
• Work with co-workers as a team to ensure customer satisfaction and a pleasant work environment.
• Assist in other areas of the store as needed and take on special projects as assigned.
• Maintain strict adherence to personal hygiene, dress standards, and all Hy‑Vee policies and store guidelines.
• Report to work when scheduled and on time.
