Job summary

Johnson County Community College is seeking a part-time Customer Service Specialist to support Bookstore operations. You will assist customers, operate the cash register, and maintain the sales floor while upholding excellent service for staff, faculty, students, and patrons.

The role requires a high school diploma and at least one year of related experience, with responsibilities including training new clerks and handling inventory and pricing tasks.

  • Process returns, exchanges, inner-account transfers, and technology purchase transactions.

Department: Finance & Administrative Services

Type of Position: Part-time Regular

Exemption Status: Non-Exempt

Work Schedule, Hours per week: 25 hours/ 5 days a week

Opportunity for hybrid schedule: No

Starting Salary Range: $16.68 - $21.23 and determined based on relevant years of work experience provided on application and resume.

Position Summary

Aid and support all aspects of Bookstore operations and maintain positive customer service to Bookstore staff, college faculty and staff members, students, and local patrons. Provide general Bookstore information and sales support, maintain the sales floor, handle customer inquiries and complaints, and operate a cash register.
