Job summary

Johnson County Community College seeks a Part-time Student Development Specialist to assist students with the enrollment process and orient them to college policies and resources. The role emphasizes customer care and effective communication via multiple channels.

Responsibilities include guiding students through enrollment steps, training newer staff, and managing the SDS schedule to ensure smooth department operations, with FERPA-compliant paperwork handling as needed.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree and 1 year experience.

• Serve as the primary point of contact for student enrollment needs and questions to resolve barriers to student success and refer appropriately to other departments as needed.
• Provide customer care and communicate effectively and accurately via email, telephone, or in person with students.
• Facilitate student learning by orienting students to the enrollment process, college policies, technological tools, and campus resources.
• Assist with training and mentoring new employees and provide help in the ongoing development of training materials.
• Complete any additional administrative projects, including overseeing the daily SDS schedule to contribute to the department's seamless operation.
• Serve as a point of contact for staff on the day-to-day department needs and provide guidance when the supervisor is unavailable.
• Provide, receive, and accurately process paperwork related to the enrollment process in accordance with FERPA.

Starting Salary Range: $16.68 - $21.23 and determined based on relevant years of work experience provided on application and resume.
