The Customer Service Representative Lead is responsible for answering incoming calls regarding Optum Salt Lake County Behavioral Health Providers, available services in Salt Lake County, and Medicaid benefit plans.

This is a full-time position (40 hours/week), Monday - Friday. Flexibility to work any of our 8-hour shifts, Sunday – Saturday, 8:00 am - 11:00 pm EST (October - March) and Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 11:00 pm EST (April – September), is required. Occasional overtime may be necessary based on business needs.

We provide comprehensive on-the-job training, with hours to be discussed on your first day or based on your schedule.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Taking inbound calls
  • Researching and providing referrals to providers/agencies in Salt Lake County for Medicaid-eligible consumers
  • Verifying Medicaid eligibility using a computer database
  • Providing additional information such as phone numbers or addresses to callers
  • Completing administrative tasks supporting the Care Coordination team

Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma / GED
  • Must be 18 years or older
  • At least 2 years of customer service experience in insurance, medical, behavioral health, or financial technology
  • Proficiency with computer and Windows applications, with the ability to learn complex systems
  • Availability to work full-time, including weekends and evenings, with flexibility for overtime

  • Experience with Financial Health Technology

  • Ability to keep all sensitive documents secure

  • High-speed internet connection capable of meeting company standards

Note: The hourly range for residents of California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, Washington, D.C., and Maryland is $19.47 to $38.08, based on various factors. Benefits include comprehensive packages, incentive programs, stock options, and 401k contributions.
