The Customer Service Representative Lead is responsible for answering incoming calls regarding Optum Salt Lake County Behavioral Health Providers, available services in Salt Lake County, and Medicaid benefit plans.

This position is full-time (40 hours/week), Monday - Friday. Employees must have flexibility to work any of our 8-hour shifts, Sunday – Saturday, 8:00am - 11:00pm EST (October - March) and Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 11:00pm EST (April – September). Occasional overtime may be required based on business needs.

We offer weeks of on-the-job training, with hours based on the schedule or discussed on your first day of employment.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Taking inbound calls
  • Researching and providing referrals to providers/agencies in Salt Lake County to Medicaid-eligible consumers over the phone
  • Using a computer database to verify Medicaid eligibility
  • Providing additional information such as phone numbers or addresses to individuals contacting the wrong organization
  • Completing administrative tasks supporting the Care Coordination team

Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma / GED
  • Must be 18 years or older
  • At least 2 years of customer service experience in insurance, medical, behavioral health, or financial technology
  • Familiarity with computer and Windows applications, with the ability to learn complex systems
  • Availability to work full-time, including weekends and evenings, with flexibility for occasional overtime

Note: This role is for residents of California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, Washington, D.C., and Maryland, with pay ranging from $19.47 to $38.08 per hour, based on various factors. Benefits include comprehensive packages, incentive programs, stock purchase options, and 401k contributions.
