Land Survey Crew Chief

Yoh has an exciting, full-time opportunity for a Survey Crew Chief to oversee survey operations for our Civil Engineering client. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of surveying experience, prior experience as a Crew Chief, and live within a commutable distance to the office in Baltimore, MD. Remote work is possible.

Responsibilities include:

1. Leading field operations with advanced equipment such as Trimble, Leica, Spectra robotic total stations, GPS RTK Units, and 3D Laser Scanners.
2. Managing data collection and ensuring seamless transfer to the office team.
3. Maintaining accurate documentation and organizing project files.
4. Using map interpretation skills to navigate projects, including scaling drawings and deciphering symbols.
5. Guiding the team with knowledge of survey types and their purposes.
6. Communicating effectively with the Assistant/Project Manager and team members.
7. Maintaining equipment to ensure optimal performance.
8. Optimizing task execution for efficiency and productivity.
9. Using computer applications to streamline surveying processes.
10. Participating in training and development opportunities.
11. Willingness to work overtime and travel with overnight stays as required.
12. Contributing to team culture through insights and collaboration.
13. Being reliable and punctual.

Qualifications include:

1. 5+ years of surveying experience.
2. Strong math skills for precise measurements.
3. Experience producing accurate plan presentations.
4. Knowledge of field survey operations and industry standards.
5. Excellent organizational and communication skills.
6. Ability to learn new software and technologies quickly.
7. Proficiency in MS Word and Excel.

Compensation: $30.00-$43.00/hour (depending on experience)

Estimated Min Rate: $61,950.00

Estimated Max Rate: $88,500.00
