Role Description

John Jensen - State Farm is Waunakee's highly‑rated insurance agency (4.9 on Google, voted Favorite Insurance Agency three years running). We're hiring a Customer Service Representative — but this isn't a dead‑end CSR job. We built this role for someone who wants to learn the insurance business from the ground up and grow into a licensed sales position. What you'll do

• Handle customer calls and inquiries, policy questions, coverage changes, claims follow‑up.
• Process endorsements and policy updates accurately.
• Maintain clean, detailed records of every customer interaction.
• Identify opportunities where customers may be underinsured or could benefit from a coverage review, and flag them to the agent.
• Support the team during life‑event moments for customers new home, new car, new baby, new job.

Growth Path

We pay for and support you through licensing — Property & Casualty, Life, and Health (Wisconsin) — with full reimbursement of exam and course costs once completed. As you build product knowledge and comfort talking to customers, you'll take on more sales‑oriented conversations cross‑selling existing customers, quoting new business, and eventually creating your own opportunities. Several of our current team members started in a service‑first role. How fast you move is up to you.

What we're looking for

• Strong communicator — comfortable on the phone, clear in writing.
• Detail‑oriented, able to juggle multiple customer conversations without dropping the ball.
• Genuinely curious about people and problem‑solving, not just processing transactions.
• Coachable and interested in learning a technical, regulated business.
• Previous customer service experience preferred; sales curiosity is a plus, not a requirement.
• Must be able to obtain WI P&C, Life, and Health licenses (agency-sponsored).

Compensation & Benefits

Base salary $40,000, plus performance‑based commission once you're licensed and begin writing business. Full reimbursement for P&C, Life, and Health licensing costs upon completion — no cost to you. Compensation $40,000.00 per year.
