Job summary

Staffmark is hiring a Customer Service Representative in Des Plaines, IL. The role focuses on assisting customers, solving problems, and maintaining accurate records while delivering excellent service. Pay is $20.00 per hour, with a Monday to Friday schedule from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.

Job Duties

• Communication with external customers via phone and email regarding order status, shipping information, billing, or other items required by the customer.
• Data Entry into Excel and/or the customer’s database.
• Dispatch drivers for U.S. domestic shipment pick-ups and deliveries.
• Data Entry and Customer Service.
• Support and notify drivers of pick-up and delivery assignments.
• Will communicate with Drivers and Internal staff on shipments.
• Will be required to provide email communication both to internal and external customers.

Education Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Additional customer service, business, or office training is beneficial.

Experience Requirements

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to provide professional, courteous, and solution-focused customer service.
• Experience using computers, business software, and data entry systems.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Commitment to professionalism, accuracy, and customer satisfaction.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous customer service, call center, retail, office support, or administrative experience is preferred.
• Experience working with CRM software, order processing systems, or customer databases is beneficial.
• Bilingual communication skills may be considered an asset depending on the position.
• Individuals who demonstrate patience, professionalism, adaptability, and excellent communication skills are well positioned for success as a Customer Service Representative.
• Previous Dispatch experience (local trucking/logistics) required – 1 to 2 years minimum
• Strong typing skills and Outlook & Excel – must be able to type 45 to 50 WPM
• Candidate must possess a strong working knowledge of Chicago’s geographic layout in order to effectively dispatch drivers.

Physical Capabilities

• Ability to remain seated or stand for extended periods while assisting customers.
• Frequent use of computers, telephones, and standard office equipment.
• Ability to communicate clearly with customers, coworkers, and business partners.
• Ability to perform repetitive keyboard and data entry tasks throughout the workday.
