Customer Service Representative (Night Shift)


Location: Vernon, CA
Schedule: Full-Time | Onsite | Monday-Friday, 2:30 PM - 11:00 PM
Type: Contract-to-Hire or Direct Hire
Pay: $21-$23/hour (up to $25/hour for highly experienced candidates in the produce/foodservice industry)

A leading wholesale distributor in the food industry is seeking dependable and personable Customer Service Representatives to join their night shift team. This is a high-volume, fast-paced environment where accuracy, professionalism, and attention to detail are essential. The position offers long-term potential for the right candidates.

Key Responsibilities

• Process incoming orders via phone and email from customers and sales representatives.
• Accurately enter 80-100 orders daily using an ERP system (ProducePro experience is a plus).
• Address item inquiries, resolve EDI errors, and manage order-related comments.
• Communicate effectively and professionally, especially when assisting frustrated customers.
• Cross-check orders with peers to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Manage approximately 60 calls and 20+ emails during each shift.
• Maintain focus and self-direction during evening hours with limited in-office supervision.
• Provide high-level customer support in a team-focused environment.
  
  

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of customer service and high-volume order entry experience.
• Experience in produce, food distribution, or foodservice industry strongly preferred.
• Bilingual in Spanish highly preferred.
• Strong attention to detail, listening skills, and the ability to multitask under pressure.
• Clear and professional communication, both verbal and written.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Experience with ERP systems required; familiarity with ProducePro is a plus.
• Consistent attendance and a customer-first attitude are a must.
  
  

Additional Details

• Fully onsite role in Vernon, CA with AI-monitored parking available.
• Upon permanent hire, employees are scheduled to work two Saturdays per month on a rotating basis.
