The Opportunity

Responsible for preparing the donor, donor area, and equipment for the pheresis processors. You will report to the Assistant Center Manager.

The Role

1. Prepares the autopheresis machine for the pheresis process.
2. Monitors the donor and the pheresis process, responds to specific alarms or signals that may occur during the process.
3. Disconnects the donor when the process is complete.
4. Maintains alertness and awareness of any reactions the donor may have during or after the pheresis process and notifies appropriate staff.
5. Uses Personal Digital Assistant (PDA) to record incidents during the pheresis process, such as machine alerts, alarms, volume variances, and donor adverse events.
6. Links equipment and soft goods used in the pheresis process to the appropriate donor using PDA.
7. Alerts Group Leader or Supervisor of donor flow issues.
8. Ensures accurate recording of donor data in the electronic donor information management system as per SOPs.
9. Understands policies and procedures related to hyper immune programs, if applicable.
10. Maintains a clean, efficient work environment and ensures sufficient supplies are available. Follows all HSE and OSHA policies, promoting safety.
11. Maintains confidentiality of all personnel, donor, and center information.
12. May be cross-trained in other areas to meet business needs.
13. Bilingual skills may be required, at the organization's discretion.
14. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Your Skills And Experience

Education

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Experience

• Minimum of three months’ work experience, preferably in a medical or health provider environment or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Basic math calculations skills.

Working Conditions

• Ability to understand, remember, and follow oral and written instructions.
• Ability to see, speak with customers, and observe equipment operation.
• Occasional standing and walking up to 100% of the time.
• Reach, bend, kneel, and manual dexterity required.
• Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds.
• Fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions.
• Exposure to hazardous chemicals, extreme temperatures, and blood-borne pathogens.
• Wearing PPE as required.
• Overtime and extended hours may be necessary.
