The Opportunity

Responsible for preparing the donor, donor area, and equipment for the pheresis processors. You will report to the Assistant Center Manager.

The Role

1. Prepares the autopheresis machine for the pheresis process.
2. Monitors the donor and the pheresis process, responds to alarms or signals during the process.
3. Disconnects the donor when the process is complete.
4. Maintains alertness to any reactions from the donor during or after the process and notifies staff accordingly.
5. Uses PDA to record incidents such as machine alarms, volume variances, and adverse events.
6. Links equipment and soft goods used in the process to the donor via PDA.
7. Alerts Group Leader or Supervisor of donor flow issues.
8. Ensures accurate recording of donor data in the electronic system as per SOPs.
9. Understands policies related to hyper immune programs if applicable.
10. Maintains a clean, efficient work environment and ensures supplies are available, following HSE and OSHA policies. Promotes safety.
11. Maintains confidentiality of personnel, donor, and center information.
12. May be cross-trained in other areas as needed.
13. Bilingual skills may be required.
14. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Your Skills And Experience

Education

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Experience

• Minimum of three months’ work experience, preferably in a medical or health environment, or equivalent education and experience.
• Basic math skills required.

Working Conditions

• Follow oral and written instructions.
• Perform tasks standing and walking up to 100% of the time.
• Reach, bend, kneel, and have manual dexterity.
• Occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
• Work in a fast-paced environment with potential exposure to hazardous chemicals, extreme temperatures, and bloodborne pathogens.
• Wear PPE as required.
• Work overtime and extended hours as needed.
