Job Description

Summary: Responsible for preparing the donor, donor area, and equipment for the pheresis process.

Main Responsibilities

• Prepare the autopheresis machine for pheresis.
• Monitor the donor and process, respond to alarms or signals.
• Disconnect donor upon completion.
• Observe for donor reactions and notify staff.
• Use PDA to record incidents and link equipment to donors.
• Alert supervisors of flow issues.
• Ensure accurate recording of donor data per SOPs.
• Understand policies related to hyper immune programs if applicable.
• Maintain a clean environment and ensure supplies are available.
• Follow all HSE and OSHA policies, promoting safety.
• Maintain confidentiality of all information.
• Cross-train in other areas as needed.
• Bilingual skills may be required.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 3 months of work experience, preferably in healthcare.
• Basic math skills.

Working Conditions

Ability to follow instructions, see and speak with customers, and observe equipment. Tasks may involve standing, walking, reaching, bending, kneeling, and lifting up to 25 pounds. Must wear PPE and work extended hours as needed. Exposure to chemicals, temperatures, and blood-borne pathogens.
