Job Description

Summary: Responsible for preparing the donor, donor area, and equipment for the pheresis process.

Main Responsibilities

• Prepare the autopheresis machine for the pheresis process.
• Monitor the donor and the pheresis process, respond to alarms or signals.
• Disconnect the donor upon completion.
• Observe donor reactions during and after the process, notify staff if needed.
• Record incidents using PDA, including alarms, volume variances, and adverse events.
• Link equipment and soft goods to the donor via PDA.
• Alert the Group Leader or Supervisor of flow issues.
• Ensure accurate recording of donor data in the electronic system.
• Understand policies related to hyperimmune programs if applicable.
• Maintain a clean, efficient work environment and ensure supplies are available.
• Follow all HSE and OSHA policies, promoting safety.
• Maintain confidentiality of all personnel, donor, and center information.
• Cross-train in other areas as needed.
• Bilingual skills may be required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education: High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience: Minimum of 3 months’ work experience, preferably in a medical or health environment, or equivalent education and experience.

Basic math skills required.

Working Conditions

Ability to follow instructions, see and speak with customers, observe equipment.

Stand and walk up to 100% of the time, reach, bend, kneel, manual dexterity.

Lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.

Fast-paced environment, exposure to chemicals, extreme temperatures, blood-borne pathogens, PPE required.

Overtime and extended hours may be necessary.
