Job summary

Food Lion is seeking a Front End Associate to provide fast, friendly service and assist Customer Service leadership in maintaining store standards. You will help with greetings, bagging, scanning, and handling payments while ensuring accuracy and a positive customer experience.

The role emphasizes teamwork, safety, and adherence to store policies. Physical stamina is required to stand, lift light loads, and assist customers throughout shifts.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
• Effective communication and customer service skills.
• Ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job.
• Ability to perform the technical requirements of cashier and service center.
• Must meet minimum age requirements to perform specific job functions.
• Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position, with or without reasonable accommodations.

Responsibilities

• Smile and provide prompt, accurate and friendly service while engaging customers to create a positive shopping experience.
• Greet each customer and use his or her name whenever possible.
• Unload customers' groceries from cart to belt and group items for easy bagging.
• Check the bottom of every cart and under baby seats for items before completing an order.
• Follow correct bagging procedures for bag types and handling.
• Scan orders and process payments per standard practice.
• Avoid personal conversations when customers are present.
• Follow procedures for cash, checks, coupons, gift cards, and WIC vouchers.
