Job summary

Food Lion is seeking a Customer Service Associate to provide fast, friendly service at the front end. You will greet customers, handle transactions, maintain a neat front-end area and follow bagging and cash-handling procedures.

The role requires strong communication, reliability and the ability to learn multiple store tasks while adhering to company standards. Working in a store environment, you will wear the Food Lion uniform, assist with daily operations, and ensure a positive shopping

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Effective communication and customer service skills.
• Ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job.
• Ability to perform the technical requirements of cashier and service center.
• Must meet minimum age requirements to perform specific job functions.

Responsibilities

• Smile and provide prompt, accurate and friendly service while engaging customers.
• Greet each customer and use his or her name whenever possible.
• Scan customers' order and handle the payment transaction, per standard practice.
• Follow correct bagging procedures for the correct use of bags by type.
• Maintain alertness and call for assistance when needed to service customers per service standards.
• Check prices quickly and accurately.
• Wear the Food Lion uniform with apron, name badge, and neat appearance during duty.
