Job summary

Piedmont Airlines in Washington, DC is seeking a Unit Manager, Customer Operations to lead the Ground Handling Department, ensuring safe equipment handling and staffing while aligning with company policies.

You will coach a diverse team of supervisors and agents, preplan manpower, monitor performance, and deliver daily and monthly reports. The role requires a proactive leader with strong communication and a track record of improving service.

Qualifications

• Two years of supervisory experience in both Ramp and Customer Service.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Aviation, Business, or related field.
• Experience working in Airport Operations Area (AOA) environment is preferred.
• Extensive knowledge of QIK, Sabre, and the Internal Controls Manual (ICM).

Responsibilities

• Keep company goals and customer expectations in mind when overseeing daily operations.
• Coach and provide career development to staff.
• Manage staff scheduling to include work assignments/rotations, breaks, overtime, and back up for absent employees.
• Prepare daily/weekly/monthly reports.
• Conduct employee performance reviews.
