Job summary

Community Financial System, Inc. (CFSI) is seeking a Teller for our Community Bank, N.A. branch network across Upstate New York and nearby regions. The role emphasizes accurate cash handling, deposits, withdrawals and delivering a friendly, customer-focused banking experience.

You will engage customers, promote digital tools, maintain security standards, and support branch operations. 37.5 hours per week with compensation commensurate with experience and a competitive benefits package.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Ability to complete internal teller and product training.
• Ability to attend a 5-7 day initial training program; company covers travel expenses.
• Reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a welcoming and professional first point of contact for customers entering the branch.
• Process routine financial transactions, including deposits, withdrawals, payments, and check cashing with verification of identity and funds.
• Engage customers in needs-based conversations to understand transactional needs.
• Direct customers to appropriate team members for additional services or solutions.
• Educate customers on digital banking tools and self-service options.
• Assist with routine inquiries, escalate complex issues as appropriate.
• Support lobby management and guide customers to the right team member.
• Answer calls promptly and professionally and direct inquiries per bank standards.
